“Trade is the stimulus package available to developing countries” — Lamy
Director-General Pascal Lamy, in his speech to the UNIDO LDC Conference in Vienna on 3 December 2009, said he looked forward to continuing to work with least-developed countries and UNIDO in ensuring that “the benefits of a more open trading system translate into reality for developing countries”.
France donates EUR 3 million to WTO technical assistance, and another EUR 3 million for the Enhanced Integrated Framework
Anne Marie Idrac, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of France, told the recent Ministerial Conference that France welcomed the opportunity to support developing countries and the least developed countries through its contributions to trade-related technical assistance programmes of the WTO and the Enhanced Integrated Framework.
